Verizon messed up my phone and now nobody can call me.
Last month ago I tried to take some money off my cell phone bill, and was successful but it came at a cost. After Verizon worked with me and removed some lines I hadn't used in a while (for smartwatches), my own primary phone line became disconnected and nobody has been able to call me since.
What's really weird is my phone works otherwise? I can call anybody. I can use the Internet, I can send and receive texts. But if anybody dials my number, they are told that my phone is disconnected, even though that's obviously not true —1 in fact I often call them back immediately after from the exact same number (they show up in my missed call log!).
When I realized what was happening, I was obviously outraged. I tried contact support to have them fix it, they reassured me everything "looked good" on their end. I was mad. We got disconnected! I would call them back, I swore, and then I never did.
Weeks have gone by. I have not gotten any spam calls. It's so irresponsible to leave it this way, but my immediate family calls me through Signal still, and every other call has been something I wouldn't have answered even when the phone was working. It is shocking how many phone calls are just spam.
So that's my latest update on disconnecting from everything on purpose. I have been disconnected from things by mistake, and it is great and I really need to fix it but... it's been great, okay?!
Please text me if you need me.

I hesitated to include this em-dash, since obviously it can make your text look AI-generated, but decided even editing it out would be letting the robots control me.↩
